White Paper Guidelines

Submit to: Cathy Ma (cathy.ma@arkansas.gov) in electronic form.
Length : The limit for an individual is three pages, the limit from a team can be six pages. The Project Description should not exceed three pages, double-spaced.
Total State Budget: The total State budget is no more than $9M (NSF) over 36 months. Appropriate budget items include start-up funds, research assistants, postdocs, research equipment, faculty summer salary.
Resumes: Include a brief resume which shows current funding of the proposed project leader and major investigators.
Participants: Please include a list of participating investigators in Arkansas with affiliations. Also include the names and affiliations of any potential collaborators outside Arkansas.

Please address both “intellectual merit” and “broader impact” review criteria.

The final proposal is not due at NSF until September 2006, but we expect the

solicitation to be similar to the current solicitation referenced below.

Funds budgeted under RII grants must be spent in Arkansas; however, the FY2007 solicitation may be expanded to include Strength-Based Research Collaborations (SBRC) of regional scope.

The RII is not an appropriate mechanism to provide support for individual faculty research projects.

The content of the final RII proposal will be determined by the Arkansas State EPSCoR governing Committee as required by NSF guidelines.
