Arkansas Research Matching Fund

Purpose

To encourage, establish and support basic and strategic research by providing state match for federal agency awards to Arkansas colleges and universities.

Program Description

The Arkansas Research Matching Fund provides state funds to match federal awards for research and research equipment. The goal of the Arkansas Research Matching Fund is to improve the state's federal research and development ranking by investing in research and research infrastructure.

Eligible Users

To qualify for these funds, schools must be a two-year or four-year accredited institution of post-secondary education in the state of Arkansas.

How to Participate

A college or university shall apply to the Arkansas Science & Technology Authority, in writing, within two weeks of the notice of an award of federal funds from one of the funding agencies identified in ACT 1545 of 1999.

Evaluation

The Authority's Board of Directors shall ensure that no commitments for matching funds shall be made in excess of funds available for any given year. The Board shall review and approve those applications that meet the provisions of Act 1545 of 1999.
